Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Kashmir issue must be solved to restore permanent peace in the region, and that they supported a peaceful and fair solution in Kashmir.

Releasing a message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is celebrated in Pakistan on February 5 every year, Zardari said that their political support to Kashmir's people would continue.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that Kashmir problem gained an international dimension, and it should be solved with the support of international community.

Kashmir has been a problem between India and Pakistan since 1947. 80 percent of Kashmir is under control of India, and the remaining 20 percent is under Pakistani control. Nearly 90 percent of Kashmir's population is Muslim.
