A public survey carried out in Pakistan by a local think tank has revealed that although most Pakistani's support the trial of former leader Pervez Musharraf and believe he deserves a jail sentence, they also feel that he will be found 'not guilty' of the charges put against him.
In the survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, which is an affiliate of Gallup International, 55% of Pakistanis questioned said they believe Musharraf should be jailed and tried for his crimes. However, when asked if he will actually be found guilty for the charges put against him 54% said 'no'.
44% of those surveyed said that they felt that Musharraf didn't deserve prison but should be released and exiled instead. Meanwhile, 41% said the trial had no effect of them.
The vast majority at 69% agreed that the charges Musharraf is facing are correct.Last Mod: 02 Nisan 2014, 14:44
