Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has left Doha to China as part of his first Asian tour to non-Arab states since he came to power last year.
"Emir Tamim left Doha Monday morning heading to China on a two-day official visit," official QNA news agency reported.
The Qatari leader is to discuss bilateral relations with Chinese President Xi Jinping and ways to reinforce cooperation between the two nations as well as regional and international issues, the agency said.
The emir is also planned to visit South Korea after wrapping up his trip in China, the report noted.
He is scheduled to hold talks with South Korean leaders on ways of enhancing cooperation between the two sides, it added.
