Two separate attacks on Pakistan's military in southwest and northwest Pakistan on Monday have killed six soldiers, officials said.
Three personnel were killed in northwestern North Waziristan when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a security checkpoint near North Waziristan's provincial capital Miramshah, near the border with Afghanistan.
It was the latest in a string of retaliatory attacks on security forces in the region, who have carried out air strikes that killed 130 “insurgents” in the last two weeks. Local residents claim most of the dead were civilians, not militants.
A security official told the Anadolu Agency that four people were killed and 15 injured in the attack.
In southwestern Baluchistan province, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, suspected Baluch separatists killed two security troops in a roadside blast on Monday, Khan Waseh, a spokesperson for official paramilitary force Frontier Constabulary told AA.
Government forces have been facing a fierce rebellion in Baluchistan since the partition of united India in 1947, when separatists claim the region was annexed by Pakistan.Last Mod: 09 Haziran 2014, 17:35
