Ten injured in bear attack in India

Horror was let loose in the district of Golaghat in Assam yesterday when a wild bear broke free in Kamargaon village attacking the people.

Ten persons, including a woman are reported to be injured.

The villagers had to climb up the trees in order to escape the attack.

The forest department took quite long to get control of the wild animal and it was only after the arrival of special team from Kaziranga that the bear could be put to sleep by using drugs.

It has been reported that ten JPC machines were used to tame the bear.

The bear was excessively beaten with iron rods and pelted with stones by the villagers and later died from its wounds.
