Three Pakistani troops have been killed and three others wounded in a landmine blast on the border of troubled South and North Waziristan, security officials have said.

The blast struck a security convoy in the region Sunday and an army officer as among those who died, a senior military official told the Anadolu Agency.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The attack was the fourth on security forces in the last two weeks since the Taliban, united at the platform of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, ended a 40-day ceasefire with government forces.

Ten security troops, including four army personnel, have been killed in the attacks, while army jets pounded suspected militant hideouts in the troubled Khyber Agency near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border last week, killing 35 insurgents.

Peace talks between the government and the TTP, suspended two weeks ago, are likely to resume on Tuesday, according to Taliban negotiators.
