Three Turkmenistani border guards have been killed along the country's divide with Afghanistan's northern Faryab province.
The attack by Afghan rebels, which happened on May 24, targeted a Turkmenistani checkpoint, Asal Khan, the acting governor of Ghormach district, told RFE/RL on Tuesday.
Neither the Taliban, who are active in the region, nor Turkmen officials have commented on the attack.
If confirmed, this will be the second such attack since three more Turkmen guards were killed in Baghdis in March.Last Mod: 27 Mayıs 2014, 16:53
