Recent violence against Muslims in Myanmar's Rakhine state is extremely saddening and an obstacle for Myanmar's global growth, Turkey's Ambassador to Myanmar stated on Wednesday.

Condemning recent acts of violence against Muslims, Turkish ambassador Ates evaluated the relations between Turkey and Myanmar by saying, "As the Republic of Turkey, we are trying to show the right way to the government of Myanmar and to be a guide to them."

Reiterating Turkey's humanitarian efforts for Myanmar through the Turkish Red Crescent aid organization, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and some non-governmental organizations, Ates said, "We are also trying to help Myanmar find long-term solutions."

Ates underlined that the recent visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Rakhine state would have a positive impact on the humanitarian aid entering the area.
