Air Serbia resumes flights to Croatia after 23 years

World Bulletin/News Desk

Air Serbia has restarted flights between Serbia's capital Belgrade and Croatia's capital Zagreb after an absence of 23 years.

Air Serbia General Manager Dane Kondic said during a ceremony at Zagreb International Airport on Friday the service would fly two flights a day between the two cities.

He said it would also improve communication between Serbian and Croatian businessmen and boost the development of tourism.

Passengers will be able to travel round-trip between Zagreb-Belgrade with prices starting from €79.

Croatian Airlines officials said they currently had no plans to schedule flights between Zagreb and Belgrade until the end of 2015.

Flights between Zagreb-Belgrade were canceled in 1991 because of the war between the two former Yugoslav republics.
