Former commander of The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Naser Oric attended the commemoration of 18th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica and the burial of 409 victims.
''I have a lot of relatives, fellow soldiers, friends who lie there," said Oric, stressing the need for each Bosniak to visit the funerals to pay their respect to the victims.
Although he was acquitted in 2006 of war crimes against Serbs in the Drina valley river on Bosnian-Serbian border, the judicial authorities in the Republic of Serbia still run their investigation against Oric for alleged war crimes.
He therefore avoided crossing the Inter-Entity Boundary Line, fearing he could suffer the fate of Jovan Divjak, Ilija Jurisic and Ejup Ganic, general of The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who were arrested and imprisoned.
