Bulgarian Prime Minister Marin Raykov and the Minister of Transportation Krisiyan Kristev, who came for the opening ceremony to Svilengrad, joined the first service of the train as passengers.
The trains will be able to speed up to 160 kilometers per hour at the line that is forming the part of the contemporary railway connection between Europe and Asia.
There is also a new built bridge, the longest of Bulgaria which is 433 metres, in the section which costed 45 million euros.
"The concepts of proximity and distance is no longer measured with kilometres but measured with travel time in the contemporary world. Today, we have opened only 18 kilometers section but we are determined to complete the entire route which is passing through Bulgaria," Raykov said.Last Mod: 10 Mayıs 2013, 16:40
