The life of Alija Izzetbegovic, the founder and first president of the state of Bosnia-Herzegovina, will be remembered in a conference in Sarajevo.

The 10th anniversary of the death of the founder of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izzetbegović, will be marked by a conference in the International Universtiy of Sarajevo on November 6.

In the conference, speakers will address the audience about Izzetbegović, who was nicknamed by his people as 'the Wise King.' Dr. Halid Genjac, a member of parliamenet, Mr. Adamir Jerkovic, Alija Izzetbegovic's chief advisor, and Mr. Zehrudin Isakovic, the author of Alija Izzetbegovic's biography, will be in the speakers. 

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is a private university located in the capital city Sarajevo, The university was established by the Foundation for the Development of Education in 2004-2005.

Alija Izzetbegovic (August 8, 1925 – October 19, 2003) was a Bosniak politician, activist, lawyer, author and philosopher who in 1990 became the first President of Bosnia-Herzegovina. He was also the author of several books, most notably 'Islam Between East and West' and the 'Islamic Declaration.'
