Around 1.4 million voters are expected to choose mayors in 25 municipalities around Kosovo during the second round of local elections on Sunday, as security is provided by 5,500 local police officers along with EULEX and KFOR international forces.
“We hope this round of the elections will end well, and that it will present Kosovo a bright light before the international community. For our citizens, we want a peaceful election,” said Osman Beka, the head of a polling station in Pristina
“I voted already. This is our hope for a better future. We are tired, very tired. We have been waiting for changes for over 14 years,” a voter told AA.
The election's first round on November 3 ended relatively peacefully, excluding an incident in Kosovska Mitrovica where masked men stormed a polling station.Last Mod: 01 Aralık 2013, 15:20
