Serbian Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic stated on Thursday night that during his recent visit to Scotland he asked Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to give Serbia two or three billion US dollars at the lowest interest rate with the repayment period of 20 or 30 years.

Stating for the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) Vucic said that it would be ''almost a gift for Serbia''.

"With the part of that money we would return the loans. Simultaneously we would reduce the level of public debt for which I think we would also get the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the rest of the money we would invest in the economy", said Vucic, stressing that it will thereafter be clear that Serbia survived and moved on.

Vucic also pointed out that the received money would change the perception of the Serbian economy in the whole world, adding he hopes Serbia to become a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

"I am positive our big friend will do it for our country. He wants the profit here, as well," said the first vice president of the Government of Serbia, confirming that Sheikh Mohammed will build the hotel in the Kopaonik (central Serbia) region.

Vucic stressed he knows that Arabs are "devoted friends", even on the personal basis.

Vucic announced that the former president of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dominic Strauss Kahn and former Austrian Chancellor Alfred Guzenbauer will be advisers to the Serbian government.

He said Strauss-Kahn will advise the Minister of Finance, the vice president and PM and help Serbia to reschedule the debts.
