A referendum in Bulgaria on nuclear energy on Sunday did not much attract the citizens.

Bulgarian Central Election Committee announced on Sunday that the voter participation at the referendum on nuclear energy on Sunday was only 4.5 percent.

Bulgarians are voting in a referendum that would decide whether or not a new nuclear power plant may be erected in the country.

The referendum will be valid only if at least 4,345,450 Bulgarian citizens cast ballots.
