23 candidates are competing in presidental election which is planned to be held on October 27 in Georgia.
Among 54 applications from the initiative groups and various political parties, 23 of them were qualified to register as candidates, according to the Georgian General Election Commision.
The main competition is expected to run between National Unity Party's candidate David Bakradze supported by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and former education minister Giorgi Margvelashvili nominated by Georgian Dream Party and supported by PM Bidzina Ivanishvili in the election which is expected to welcome the participation of 3.5 milion people.
