The Armenian Constitutional Court has ruled in favor of thousands who came out to protest the country's new pension law, after finding it to be 'unconstitutional.'

Court chairman Gagik Harutiunian said the law, which was suspended just days after it came into force in January, imposes "certain obligations to the citizens limit some of their rights guaranteed by the Constitution."

The new bill stirred street protests in the capital Yerevan, with citizens born after January 1, 1974 rejecting government attempts to force them to pay 5% of their monthly wages to a pension fund.
