Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida has vowed to increase cooperation with Central Asian states at the 5th Meeting of Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue in the Kyrgyztan capital Bishkek on Wednesday.
Stating thay Japan will actively contribute more to bringing peace, stability and prosperity to Central Asia Kishida added that Japan would enhance its participation in the Dialogue.
“Our dialogue has started 10 years ago and it focused on regional cooperation and development of Central Asia,” Kishida stated, according to AKI Press.
“Our dialogue is developing on the basis of cooperation in concrete spheres. Japan will deepen relations with Central Asia,” he said.
The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are all participating in the meeting.
Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldayev opened the meeting saying “It has become a good platform for dialogue concerning sustainable development of the Central Asian region and Japan. Two meetings were held during chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan, in Bishkek and Tokyo, which became a significant potential of mutually beneficial cooperation.”
