Turkey will support Turkish Cypriot people in their struggle for equal political rights, Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul said on Friday, on the anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) thirty years ago.
President Abdullah Gul sent a message to Turkish Republic of North Cyprus via Presidential Secretary-General Mustafa Isen, expressing his sincere greetings to both TRNC officials and the people.
“I am proud to congratulate the 30th anniversary of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is the most valuable achievement of free, quality and legitimate struggle of the hero Turkish people of Cyprus”, Gul’s office said in a statement.
Gul noted that as it has done till today, motherland Turkey will continue to stand by Turkish Cypriot people in their legitimate struggle and support them to provide equal political rights and the right to self government to Turkish people on the island.
