Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have signed a cooperation agreement on Friday.
The cooperation protocol in various fields including education, environment and health was sealed by the signatures of OIC President Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and TRNC Foreign Minister Ozdil Nami.
Ihsanoglu said following the signing ceremony that the existing ties between the OIC and TRNC will be stronger with the deal and they, as the organization, will stand by Turkish Cypriots in their rightful struggle against the double standards they received from the international public opinion.
Nami for his part said the first official protocol signed with the OIC is significant for Cypriot Turks to have their righteous voice heard across the world.
President Eroglu honors Ihsanoglu with "TRNC state medal"
Dervis Eroglu, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), decorated the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu with "TRNC state medal".
Speaking at the ceremony, Ihsanoglu stressed, serving the TRNC is a national duty for all Turks and a religious duty for all Muslims.
During his nine years in the office as Secretary General of OIC, Ihsanoglu said that the total trade volume between TRNC and Muslim countries has doubled.
President Eroglu thanked Ihsanoglu for his service to TRNC, and said that Ihsanoglu has deserved to be decorated with the state medal.Last Mod: 23 Kasım 2013, 10:37
