Turkish Cypriot mediator, Kudret Ozersay, has said that Russia's stance on the Cyprus peace process will be important for its success after meeting with a senior Russian diplomat on Wednesday.
In a meeting with Andrey Maslov from the Russian Foreign Ministry's European Affairs Department, the two diplomats exchanged views on the ongoing Cyprus peace talks between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Greek Cypriot government.
After the two and a half hour meeting, Ozersay also revealed that the Russian diplomat had made a few recommendations in order for the peace talks to achieve their aims.
Underlining the importance of Russia's stance on the talks, Ozersay said he felt it was important to keep key players in the United Nations Security Council correctly informed regarding the peace process.Last Mod: 04 Nisan 2014, 12:52
