A group of Christian Democrats in the Flemish regional parliament of Belgium will arrive in Turkey next week.
The Flemish Christian Democrats choose a country each year in order to learn more about the country. Last year, they chose China and for 2011 their choice was Turkey upon a proposal by their counterpart Veli Yuksel who is a Belgian citizen of Turkish origin.
The 20-member delegation of the Christian Democrats will visit Turkish provinces of Mardin, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Ankara and Istanbul.
Turkey's Minister of European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis will receive the Belgian delegation.
The delegation will hold meetings with the chairperson of the Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Volkan Bozkir, Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas and Sanliurfa Governor Celalettin Guvenc.
