In a statement released Tuesday, the Municipality said that the food items were handed over to the Turkish Religious Foundation last week in order to be sent to Somalia.

Ankara Municipality sends 106 tonnes of food items to Somalia

The Municipality of Ankara said Tuesday that they sent 106 tonnes of food items to famine stricken Somalia.

In a statement released Tuesday, the Municipality said that the food items were handed over to the Turkish Religious Foundation last week in order to be sent to Somalia.

Each box sent to Somalia includes 6 kilograms of liquid oil, 3 kilograms of sugar, 5 kilograms of flour, 5 kilograms of pasta, 3 kilograms of milk powder for babies, 3 kilograms of biscuits for babies and 3 kilograms of processed wheat.
