The British Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Office is planning to open new positions in Turkey in order to increase its diplomatic influence.
The office will raise the number of its embassies and staff in Asian countries but reduce those in Europe.
British Secretary of Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs William Hague said Britain was willing to boost relations with developing countries.
Britain would open new positions in Turkey, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia in order to increase its diplomatic influence, Hague said during a meeting at the House of Commons, the lower chamber of the British Parliament.
