Chair of the People's Assembly of the Gagauz Autonomy Anna Kharlamenko paid a visit to Turkish Deputy Parliament Speaker Sadik Yakut in Ankara on Tuesday.

Yakut said the autonomy peacefully gained by the Gagauz people formed an example in international arena.

Yakut said this autonomy should be preserved and improved, and economic development should be maintained.

Yakut said relations between Turkey and Moldova gradually gained importance, underlining the importance of the status of Gagauz.

Kharlamenko and the accompanying delegation will attend a luncheon to be hosted by Ismail Ozgun, chairman of Turkey-Moldova Interparliamentary Friendship Group.

The guest delegation will meet Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission chairman Murat Mercan on Wednesday and later proceed from Ankara to Istanbul.

The delegation will depart from Turkey on Friday.
