The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Turkish Chairmanship was extended by consensus of member states for two years (2012-2014), the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Saturday.

In a statement released Saturday, the MFA said that "under the Turkish Chairmanship the 7th meetings of the Special Working Group and the Senior Officials Committee will be held in Ankara on 20-22 June 2012. Also, the 5th Meeting of the CICA Economic Sub-Group will take place on 20 June".

"The draft of the declaration to be adopted at the CICA Foreign Ministers meeting scheduled for 12 september 2012 in Astana and the events to be organized this year on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the CICA process will be mainly discussed at the meetings in Ankara," the MFA also said.
