The corpse of Japanese journalist Mika Yamamoto (45) killed in Syria was brought to the Turkish province of Kilis on Tuesday.

Yamamoto was taken to the morgue of the Kilis State Hospital after entering Turkey via the Oncupinar Border Gate.

The corpse of Yamamoto was brought to Turkey with the assistance of the Syrian opposition and Yamamoto's spouse.

Yamamoto was an experienced journalist who had covered the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in the past.
