Speaking to reporters in central Anatolian province of Konya, he was asked if he held a conversation with the Foreign Minister of Myanmar.

Davutoglu said that, due to the time difference between Turkey and Myanmar, he could not hold a conversation with the Foreign Minister of Myanmar yet.

"Last week, we sent a letter to the Foreign Minister of Myanmar on the situation there. We have made initiatives within the frame of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Myanmar. We are also in touch with the regional organization ASEAN on the matter. We are holding talks with Bangladesh. I will speak with the Foreign Minister of Myanmar in the shortest time possible," Davutoglu noted.

"The Turkish Directorate General of Religious Affairs began an aid campaign for Myanmar. We will make all efforts so that aid reaches Myanmar," Davutoglu also said.
