Doctors Worldwide (Yeryüzü Doktorları) a Turkish NGO who voluntarily respond to emergency situations around the world provided relief to people in Mauritania.

According to a statement released from the Foundation, in the framework of "Project of Smiling Children" since 2007 they held surgeries in 15 countries including Palestine, Gaza and Yemen.

Their 16th stop has been Mauritania.

Team of 16 volunteering medical experts held 40 surgeries, 300 examinations and 28 oral surgeries in 5 days time successfully.

In addition to a ton of medical equipment, Doctors Worldwide also distributed the 20 wheelchairs donation of Istanbul's Fatih Municipality to Mauritanians.

Some of the medical equipment which was obtained by Bezmialem Vakif University, Fatih Municipality and Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) was used during surgeries and the rest of it was sent to Mauritania Ministry of Health.
