A reception has taken place in Ankara to mark Egypt's National Day.
Hosted by Egyptian Ambassador in Ankara Abderahman Salaheldin, the reception brought together Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag, Omer Celik of the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party and a number of diplomats including U.S. Ambassador Francis Ricciardone and Israeli Ambassador Gaby Levi.
Salaheldin told reporters at the reception that it was the first celebration following the uprising in his country earlier this year.
"We are going through a democratic transition process. We are going to hold parliamentary and presidential elections. This is the most important period in Egypt's history," he said.
The Egyptian diplomat said he expected that a responsible coalition government would appear in the country following the elections.
He said that number of Turkish industrialists investing in his country would increase following the formation of new government.
Salaheldin added that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would travel to Egypt in the coming weeks.
