Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Palestinian government in Gaza said that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's upcoming visit to Palestine would be a historical one.
“We will host Erdogan worthily for Turkey and Turkish people," added Haniyeh on Friday about Erdogan's planned visit to Gaza.
Speaking to Turkish press, Haniyeh criticized the attitude of the United States about the visit, and said "Erdogan nullified the US efforts to halt the visit. His stance signifies the end of an era of US' tutelage."
Describing Turkish Premier's visit as a historical one, Haniyeh said, "we will host Erdogan, as the government and the people of Palestine, worthily for Turkey and Turkish people. We started the preparations."
Haniyeh also made clear of the news at the international press claiming that Palestinan President Mahmoud Abbas would accompany Erdogan on his visit to Gaza that they hadn't received such information.
Turkish Premier Erdogan is expected to visit Gaza following his US visit in mid-May.Last Mod: 04 Mayıs 2013, 10:02
