European Union (EU) on Wednesday announced they extended full support to talks with the head of the militant organization PKK, Abdullah Ocalan, to find solution to the problem of terror and other problems.

Turkish government announced that it was discussing disarmament with the militants.

A session titled "Dialogue for peaceful solution to the Kurdish problem" took place at the general assembly of the European Parliament on Wednesday.

Speaking at the general assembly of the European Parliament, EU Term President Ireland's Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton underlined that the EU supported talks for peace in Turkey.

A representative for the European Commission, Stefan Fule said that "the successful completion of peace talks will speed up Turkey's EU membership negotiations."
