Vice-President of the Social Democrats Group at the European Parliament (EP), Hannes Swoboda, said Sunday the Turkish main secularist opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) should support the Constitutional amendments in Turkey and vote 'yes' to a referendum to be held in Turkey on September 12.
CHP should support the Constitutional amendments package as this package brings social democrat values, Swoboda stressed.
As the European Union (EU), we always extend support to Turkey's democratization and reforms. The Constitutional package we see is one open to reforms and freedoms. Accordingly, we support the change in Turkey, Swoboda also said.
