Some Libyan troops took shelter at Turkish companies' construction sites during NATO war planes' bombardment in Libya.
Sarp Birin, CEO of Summa Holding, told the A.A correspondent in Tripoli that they had evacuated their construction sites months ago because of the uprising in the country.
"We have been dealing with construction business in Tripoli for long years. We have undertaken construction of Africa's biggest building. We have three construction sites and a camp in Libya. We evacuated them after the beginning of the incidents. After clashes came to an end, we checked our sites. We learnt that Gaddafi forces took shelter at our sites during NATO bombardment. They left the sites after opposition forces took control of the city," he said.
"There are a number of Turkish companies operating in Libya. The Transitional National Council is dealing with many problems for the time being. We think that foreign investors will be able to receive their receivables in the coming months. The Council told us that it would repay the former administration's debts," he said.
Birin added that Libya would need Turkish companies in its rebuilding process.
