Hungary’s Ambassador to Turkey Janos Kovari said there was a new dynamism in the European Union (EU) in terms of Turkey’s accession.

Speaking to AA on Wednesday, Kovari expressed Hungary's support for Turkey’s EU membership.

Kovari said there was a new dynamism in Brussels in terms of Turkey’s accession, and added, "I think a step further is very close. More efforts should be exerted.”

Stating that the EU was running late for proceeding in the negotiations for Turkey’s accesssion, Kovari said, “Customs Union between Turkey and the EU works very well, while Turkish public is already a westerner.“

Reminding that recently a sister city protocol has been signed between Turkey’s Kayseri, a central Anatolian province, and Hungary’s Milkoc, a city in east of the country, Kovari called on both nations’ businessmen to further engage in joint projects.
