The Humanitarian Aid Foundation (İHH), one of the oldest aid organizations in Turkey, is preparing to open an orphanage that will be the largest in Somalia, a country struggling to cope with a worsening humanitarian crisis caused by drought.
Apart from special aid campaigns organized during the holy month of Ramadan, a time of self-reflection, spiritual consciousness and charity for Muslims, İHH also works on some permanent aid campaigns in drought-stricken Somalia.
İHH is currently endeavoring to complete the construction of the largest orphanage in Somalia. The construction of the orphanage is expected to be completed soon. The orphanage will provide services to 1,200 children who were orphaned by the famine caused by drought. The orphanage will be constructed in a complex which will include a school, a health-care center, a well, a supermarket, a sports hall and a mosque. The orphans will also be offered a course on the Quran.Last Mod: 24 Ağustos 2012, 17:41
