A statement from the Turkish president's press office said Mukherjee -- the first Indian president to visit Turkey in 15 years -- will be decorated with an honorary doctorate degree at Istanbul University.  

Turkish-Indian relations will be discussed and the two presidents will exchange their views about current regional and global developments during their official meeting to be held on October 7 in Ankara, the Turkish capital.

The visit will also see the penning of several agreements to boost cooperation between the two countries in various fields, the statement added.
