Visiting Iranian Vice President Lotfollah Forouzandeh Dehkordi proposed to set up a joint legislative workshop between the Turkish and Iranian parliaments during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ on Thursday.

The proposal by Dehkordi, who is vice president for parliamentary affairs, was welcomed by Bozdağ, who said the Turkish side will study the proposal. Bozdağ also plays the role of liaison between the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government and Parliament.

A government source who declined to be named said the discussion between Dehkordi and Bozdağ did not cover the Syrian crisis, over which Ankara and Tehran have sharp differences. “Iraq did not come up in the conversation either,” the same source said.
