The Palestinian ambassador to Turkey said on Tuesday that they aimed to launch campaign regarding recognition of Palestine in Turkey.
Ambassador Nabil Marouf held a press conference in Ankara ahead of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's visit to Turkey and the Palestinian Ambassadors' Conference scheduled to be held in Istanbul on July 22 and 25 as well as the 4th Palestinian Culture Week.
Marouf said that Abbas would visit Turkey between July 21 and 23 and he would meet with Turkish officials.
Abbas and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would make opening remarks of the Palestinian Ambassadors' Conference on July 23 and later they would have tete-a-tete meeting, he said.
The reason of their organizing the ambassadors' conference in Turkey was "to launch campaign on recognition of Palestine in Istanbul," he said. "It will also show Turkey's support and stance on the matter," he said.
Marouf said that the 4th Palestinian Culture Week would begin in Istanbul on July 23 and would continue in southeastern province of Sanliurfa.
