Seminar held in Turkey to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day

A seminar was held in Ankara on Monday to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, and participants expressed their full support of the people of Kashmir and their democratic right to self-determination.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Turkey-Pakistan Cultural Association and Ankara University. Delivering a speech at the event, Burhan Kayatürk, president of the Turkey-Pakistan Cultural Association and a member of the Turkish Parliament said, “Turkey shall always support the cause of the Kashmiri people.”

Referring to a speech Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave at the UN General Assembly where he advocated the speedy resolution of this long-standing dispute to achieve peace and stability in the region, Kayatürk stressed Turkey will continue to play a positive role and will support efforts aimed at the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Muhammad Haroon Shaukat said Pakistan remains committed to a meaningful, sustained and result-oriented dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues, the most important of which is the dispute over Kashmir.
