A mortar shell believed to be fired from Syria fell in southern Turkish province of Hatay on the Syrian border. No casualties reported.
The mortar shell fell in a fruit garden in Aşağıpulluyazı village of Yayladağı district and windows of several houses in the area were broken.
The shell created a big crater in the garden. Turkish gendarmerie forces collected some parts of the mortar shell for examination.
Village head Riyad Kızgıntaş said the mortar shell fell Saturday night, when people flocked to the streets as a result of the sound of the blast. He said no one was injured but windows of some houses were broken.Last Mod: 24 Şubat 2013, 14:59
