Turkey and Mauritius signed free trade agreement on Thursday. Turkey's Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said they gave a special importance making trade with Africa and the agreement would provide investors to invest securely.

He said that agreement was the fourth in Africa and the first in Sub-Sahara.

He added that Turkish Airlines (THY) would start flying to Mauritius in September.

Mauritius Foreign and Trade Minister Arvin Boolell said the bilateral relations were unique, and added that the best part of working with Turkey was the humanitarian side of the relations.

Boolell said Turkey and Mauritius were like doors in their regions providing a large platform for the investors.

Following the speeches, Turkey-Mauritius commercial and economic cooperation agreement as well as agreement on protecting bilateral investments were signed.
