“Iraq's stability, peace and happiness, like the peace and happiness of Turkey, is cherished and important, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at a press conference alongside Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Salih al-Mutlaq in Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Davutoglu expressed his happiness to visit Iraq and hold talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and acting President Hadayr al-Huzai.

"We have lived together throughout history, and will live together for all eternity," Davutoglu stressed.

Meanwhile, Mutlaq stated, “This visit shows a restructuring of bilateral relations. A new era has begun.”

Noting that he would always remember Turkey's stance against the occupation of Iraq in 2003, Mutlaq emphasized he would never forget how the Turkish people took to the streets to support Iraq during that period.
