Mevlut Cavusoglu, a Turkish lawmaker and president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has reiterated his country's commitment to become a member of the European Union.
"Despite all difficulties and hindrances, there is no shift in Turkey's willingness for the EU accession. Our country will continue its resolute march toward that goal,"
Cavusoglu told a Stockholm conference over Turkey's future role in the EU.
Cavusoglu also rejected "a shift of axis" in Turkey's foreign policy direction, saying a country that had "an active foreign policy cannot not limit itself to single geography."
Cavusoglu also held a meeting with Goran Lindblad and paid a visit to Birgitta Ohlsson, Swedish Minister for EU Affairs.
