Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay on Tuesday stated that Turkey didn't receive significant international support in regards to the Syria issue.
Atalay made a speech prior to a coordination meeting for Syria at the headquarters of the Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and stated that there were currently around 183 thousand Syrians who came to Turkey and reside in the camps in Turkey.
Atalay said, "The UN provided public relief worth 30 million dollars and Saudi Arabia donated 50 million dollars whereas Turkey spent 600 million dollars for Syrians."
Emphasizing that the events had started nearly two years ago on March 15, Atalay stated that the spread of the conflict has made the lives of the Syrians more difficult.
Atalay also underlined that the international community had to be more sensitive to the incidents in Syria.Last Mod: 19 Şubat 2013, 15:20
