Turkish ministers attended the funeral ceremony of eight Turkish citizens who lost their lives in Sunday's apartment fire in Germany's Backnang town.

Bozdag said that German authorities should certainly find out the reason of the fire, adding that they were expecting a detailed investigation to be carried out.

We hope it was not an arson or racist attack, said Bozdag, adding that Turkey was ready to help the investigation.

Bozdag noted that an autopsy would be performed on the bodies again in Istanbul, and the bodies would be sent to western Afyonkarahisar province on Wednesday.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and all Turkish citizens are supporting Turks living in Germany, he said.

Forestry & Water Works Minister Veysel Eroglu also attended the ceremony.

Seven children -between the ages of 6 months and 17 years- and their mother lost their lives in a fire which broke out in Backnang city of Germany on Sunday. Their bodies were found at the first floor of the house. Police said the fire was estimated to erupt due to a broken stove and there was no sign of an arson yet.

Nazli Ozkan Soykan (40), Hatice (17), Yilmaz (14), Abdulkadir (8), Izzet (7), Yasin (6), Ahmet (3), and Murat ( 6 months) lost her lives in the fire.
