Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said cooperation between Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey will be beneficial for the Eurasia region.

Davutoglu's comments came on Monday as he addressed media in a joint press conference with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Memmedyarov following their meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan.

"We would like to strengthen our cooperation with this meeting. We will have some direct and practical projects for the upcoming period," Davutoglu said.

Davutoglu also stressed that the future of "brothers" Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was also Turkey's future.

"May our countries' flags wave together all around the world," he said.

Building cooperation

He also thanked his counterparts for their condolences over the deaths of 301 miners after a mine fire in Soma, western Turkey on 13 May.

The meeting aimed to build cooperation between the three countries in economic, social and political fields.

Davutoglu was received by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev earlier on Monday and the pair discussed relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, regional issues and recent developments in conflict-torn Ukraine.

The next trilateral meeting will take place in the second half of 2014 in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat.
