Turkish State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said Tuesday that Turkey would continue extending full support to flood-stricken Pakistan.
Forty containers loaded with humanitarian aid material left for Pakistan by railway under a campaign launched by the Governor's Office in the western province of Manisa.
Speaking at the ceremony, Arinc said, "this year's monsoon rain resulted in a serious disaster in Pakistan. Floods triggered by heavy monsoon rain scoured Pakistan's Indus river basin, killing hundreds of people and disrupting the lives of millions of others. Turkey has been trying to do everything in its power to help Pakistan in such a difficult period."
Arinc said that Turkey sent some 120 million USD as financial support in additional to the humanitarian aid packages.
"We are also planning to build dwellings in Pakistan for people who lost their homes in the flood disaster," he added.
