Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin said Friday the unjust distribution of resources, food items being at the top of the list, poses a threat to global peace and is a cause of many global problems.
Mehmet Ali Sahin delivered remarks at a session titled "new paradigms for peace and food safety" as part of the G-20 Parliament Speakers' meeting at the Canadian Parliament on Friday.
The whole world must make efforts to help children who face hunger, thirst and poverty as of the moment of their birth, Sahin stressed.
The priority of the international community must be to take urgent measures so that food items reach the poorest parts of the world, Sahin said.
Touching on the floods that hit Pakistan recently, Sahin said that the humanity is now going through a test.
In the face of such a tremendous disaster in Pakistan, I believe that international organizations and all countries must be on the side of Pakistan and make the necessary assistance, Sahin also said.
