Turkey's membership in the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) will strengthen its ties with regional organizations, said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Monday in Bahrain's capital Manama.

Davutoglu attended the Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, hosted by Bahrain's Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, for the first time following Turkey's becoming a member in September.

"Turkey is ready to contribute to tourism cooperation within the ACD, as well as cooperating on education, culture and energy," he said. " We also want to strengthen cooperation on counter-terrorism."

Turkey became on September 26 the 33rd member of ACD, established in 2002 with the aim of strengthening dialogue within the Asian continent and extending cooperation with member states.
